Story

I recently found a picture my dead mother had kept secret for my 55 years. It's a picture of someone she was with before she married my father. There has always been a rumor that my dad was not really my dad because they hadn't been dating long enough before I was born. The picture sure lends credence to that possibility. It's like me standing next to my mother. Unfortunately, most people who would have information about this are now dead and took whatever secrets they had to their graves. All I know is that he was called Texarkana Bob, and was a country western singer in 1949-50. The picture of him and my mother, who was only 16 at the time, was taken at Christmas, 1949. Sometime after that, she ran off with him and lived in a trailer with his aunt. Where, I don't know. My grandfather went to the police and all I know is that the FBI found them and brought her back. That was in the first few months of 1950. My mom's maiden name was Dolores K. Cosco. She lived in Chicago at the time. That's not much to go on, but that's all I have. The only thing I can guess, by his name, is that he was from the Arkansas-Texas area.
